Home Features Every Buyer Should Consider

Buying a home is an exciting time but can also come with plenty of stress as there’s so much to take care of and many steps to get through before you get the keys and can move in. Many a home buyer has also been nervous about the possibility of buyers’ remorse, where you discover the house of your dreams may not measure up to your expectations.

You can lessen this possibility by knowing what you want in a home. Sure, you may know just how many bedrooms you want, or that you love the idea of a brand- new house or prefer the character of an older one. These are all great things to know. But it can be easy to miss an amenity or home feature which could make a big difference towards how much you love your new house.

Realtor.com has asked home buyers just what they love about their house to provide a helpful guide to buyers. The following features are worth considering as you search for your new home.

Tree in the yard. Trees not only add value to a property, they can help make a home more comfortable. Home buyers who love their trees know this. A mature tree such as an oak or magnolia for example, will provide cooling shade in the summer and can aid as a wind break in the winter. In an urban setting, tress provide a direct connection to nature right outside the door.

Soaking tub. This luxury amenity is finding its way into more homes, and it’s no surprise. Home buyers who bought a house with a soaking tub has reported enjoying it as an excellent way to wind-down, let go of the workday or a hectic week, and simply relax. Being able to relax at home in comfort in tantamount towards loving where you live.

Lots of lights. Buying a home with lots of lights could make a big difference in your daily living affairs. Check each room for how much readily-available lighting is there. Many a home buyer have found the more built-in lighting there was in their home at the time of purchase, the more flexibility they had when it came to things such as entertaining, enjoying hobbies and even working from home.

Covered patio. There’s no doubt, a covered patio or porch will extend your living space. This can make a huge difference for those living in urban villages where yards and outdoor space is at a premium. With the rise in the outdoor-living room trend, a covered exterior space is step one towards enjoying outdoor entertaining or relaxing outside throughout much of the year.
